Gum Disease Treatment
According to the British Dental Health Foundation gum disease is the major cause of tooth loss in adults. In fact more teeth are lost through periodontal disease than through tooth decay.
Gum disease is caused by plaque – a build up of bacteria that forms on our teeth and gums every day. Brushing, flossing and regular visits to your dentist and hygienist ensures the plaque does not permanently settle on your teeth and gums to cause long term gum disease.
During a Periodontal Health appointment with either the hygienist or the dentist, we will undertake a thorough assessment of your gums and prescribe a treatment plan and gum maintenance programme that minimises any long term damage to your teeth and bones.
