It’s been quite a year and you will notice a lot of changes when you come to Redmires Dental Care.
One change is that after four decades at the practice I won’t be here, but you will also notice a lot of changes that have been put in place to do our very best to ensure your safety when you come to the practice.
Raj Patel and the team have been putting in a massive effort to prepare for your return. Some of these changes are in the way that the practice looks – with particular concentration on preventing the transmission of covid-19. There are also changes in how Redmires Dental Care communicates with you before your appointment, and things you will be asked to do differently when you attend. These have all been designed for safety and protection for you and for our remarkable team of professionals. Please follow what you are asked to do, and keep safe!
It’s forty years since I started the practice in an empty building on a corner in Crookes. The practice has developed and grown over the years to what we have now. For thirty-five of those years, of course, I was fortunate to work with Bill McGorrigan. Bill retired at the end of 2019 and it is now time for me to leave your care in the hands of my very capable and caring colleagues.
It’s been a real privilege to be able to look after your dental care over four decades, and to develop real friendships with many of you. I shall miss seeing so many good friends. I had planned to see many of you over my last few months of work for a final catch-up but unfortunately the coronavirus has put paid to that. I want to thank everyone for their custom over the years and wish you all well for the future.
I shall also miss my amazing colleagues. We have an excellent team of dentists, nurses and administrative staff at Redmires, and have been fortunate to have had many wonderful team members over the years. One of the joys for me has been to see staff form life-long friendships that persist even when some have left. The friendliness within the practice and the calm approach to dental care – all linked to a high quality of dentistry – have, hopefully, been the hallmarks of the last forty years and I have every reason to think that this will continue for years to come.
If we meet up somewhere then we can exchange a wave, a smile and maybe a chat.

Mr. Patel was excellent in my consultation. He explained everything perfectly and made it very easy to understand by referring to other modern day occurrences and introducing an enjoyable element of humour.
